Most websites open with a cookie banner. This one does not, because there is nothing to ask you about. This page explains why.

This website does not use cookies
We do not set cookies, and we do not store or read information on your device using browser storage such as localStorage or sessionStorage.
That applies to every page of this website, including the enquiry form.
What we use instead
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see which pages are read and how quickly they load. Unlike most analytics tools, these work without cookies.
They record the address of the page viewed, the referring website where there was one, approximate location and device type derived from the request, page performance measurements and the time of the visit. According to Vercel's published documentation, visitors are identified by a hash created from the incoming request rather than by a stored identifier, and a visitor session is discarded after 24 hours.
The practical consequence is that this measurement cannot recognise you on a later visit, and cannot follow you to another website. Our Privacy Policy sets out the detail and our lawful basis.
What we do not use
We do not use any of the following on this website:
- Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager
- Microsoft Clarity, session recording or heatmapping
- Meta Pixel, or any other advertising or social media pixel
- advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies
- any third-party content delivery network for fonts, images or scripts
Fonts, images and scripts are all served from this website's own domain, so loading a page here does not send a request to a third-party host.
Why there is no cookie banner
UK rules on cookies come from the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. They require your consent before a website stores information on, or reads information from, your device.
This website does neither, so there is nothing to consent to and no banner is shown. We would rather not use cookies than ask you to dismiss a banner about them.
If this changes
If we ever introduce technology that uses cookies or similar device storage, we will update this page and put an appropriate consent mechanism in place before that technology is switched on. We will not enable it first and ask afterwards.
